OH LORD I JUST WANT TO PRAISE YOU

Oh Lord, I just want to praise you and thank you for everything this morning. I thank you for the tears in my eyes as I think of your love and goodness to me. Lord, you alone are to be praised. You are my all in all. You are my strength. You are the healer of my body. You continue to bless me beyond all measure. I thank you for the presence of the sweet Holy Spirit as I write and share with others.

Lord, what is man but a vapor, he vanishes away, but you are divine, you are forever and my soul seeks you to live and abide in me. The song says “He abides, he abides, hallelujah, he abides with me.” I am rejoicing as I walk this narrow way for the comforter abides with me. Oh praise your wonderful name.

Yes, it’s Monday for many folks but why get up blue and discouraged, why not start this week with heaven on your mind. Yes, Jesus is near, allow him to refresh you, he is better than any cup of coffee you put to your lips and he will give you energy all day and it flows freely as you take a drink from his fountain.

Ok, dog got me up, couldn’t go back to sleep; so thought I would have a refreshing moment with our Lord. Wow! This is better than sleep anyway. Let me leave you with a Psalm of thanksgiving for answered prayer. God works out his plans for our lives and will bring us through the difficulties we face. I share Psalm 138

I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.
Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Now, let’s have a little talk with Jesus, tell him all about your troubles, he will hear you when you call and he will answer. You will know it is he alone that makes the way for you. Now, you able the praise the Lord with me and be full of joy.

HE IS DOING IT AGAIN

Wow! What a God we serve. I shared recently how God blessed us with a new roof on our church. We are now working on some exterior work to include a good paint job. Since Sunday not only has our contractor donated funds for paint, I had a good couple give me $100 on our projects.

Now, I’m looking with expectation for whatever God has in store for us. I’m thankful our congregation continues to do all they can do and God is blessing them too. It seems like each week something new happens. Also with our repairs the draw space I call it under the church was completely redone by our carpenter.

It just makes me want to sing out “Look what the Lord has done” It let’s me know just how important it is to learn from Psalm 27:14 when it says “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”

I want to cry out as Psalms 31: 1-5 “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.
Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

Lord, thank you so much for being so good to us, our hearts desire is to commit our spirit into your hand. Lord help us reach souls and help us be equipped to train them to reach others. It is such a joy to know you have work for us to do.

I proclaim that the Lord hears the righteous. Read with me Psalms 34:1-10

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

Yes, the Lord is still in business and I encourage you to magnify the Lord with me as we exalt his name together. Regardless what you face today, God is near and will direct your path as you place your hand in his hand and trust him.

DAD AND PRAYER

While pondering on writing this week my thoughts turned to a time in my childhood. I was about 8 and everyone was in bed and I was praying. My heart’s desire was to be in the will of God. As I prayed I felt the need to have someone pray with me. I got up went to my dad and got him up and he prayed with me.

This was just an innocent time in life but over the years I have often thought on how blessed I was to have a dad who would take time to pray. Folks you are blessed if you have someone that will pray with you when you have a need. I’ve often thought of how tired dad must have been the next day as he went to work. He never screamed go to sleep or we will talk about it later he just got up and put my mind to ease and off to bed we went.

Prayer is the key that will unlock any door. Why we don’t take time to do more of it I don’t know. Our heavenly father awaits our call twenty four hours a day if we will but take the time to do it.

If your child, your neighbor, your friend ask you to pray, take time to pray with them. I get request that seem silly to some at times but doesn’t matter what the request is take time and pray for God’s will in the given situation.

Yesterday I was blessed with a visit from some of my “Sullivan cousins.” It was wonderful to talk about old times and things we remember but as we talked we shared our family’s needs and I find myself praying tonight to meet the many health needs we shared. We know God is our healer and we continually call upon his name and trust him for our health.

I started the day yesterday loading some chairs and pews that our sister church Durkee Rd donated to us. As their pastor and I shared a few minutes it was uplifting to have a fellow brother you could talk with a few minutes. All of us need someone to pray and share with. It is wonderful to experience peace in our heart and know we are striving for the same goal of reaching heaven.

Life has its ups and downs but if you know how to touch the throne of grace you need never fret or frown because in prayer he is ever present and promises not to leave nor forsake us.

When dad was near death and I would see him for my last time, he called me over and said son don’t pray for me to live. He said I know you and the family will but I want you to pray God’s will. If he lifts me up I will praise him, if my time is done I’m tired and I want to go with him. This was a hard thing for me to do but my dad had prayed for me as I ask so I was compelled to honor his wish. He lived a few more days and God took him home.

Folks it’s important to pray God’s will, Jesus reached this place where he would cry out thy will and he suffered the cross in God’s will. It doesn’t matter what you are facing, take time to pray and as you pray release it in God’s hands for his will to be done. Yes, take time right now and do it and receive peace in God.

REJOICING WITH THE SAINTS

Wow! What a treat and joy to rejoice with fellow Christians from all over the world. I spent last week at the International Assembly of the Church of God of Prophecy greeting ole friends and meeting new ones.

God is so good, I’m thankful for my church helping me attend. I had trouble doing the walking from my room and roundabout but we made it. It was so wonderful to see unity and love and know God is in your midst. It is hard to sit thru every session so you have to pick and choose sometimes.

Daily devotions began at 9 A M each day and were followed leading us into our daily thoughts on Anointing. Our theme was Anointed to Lead, Join the journey.
It was good to have our people from all over the world share what God is doing in their ministry.

Wednesday: We were led in sessions on Anointed to Lead, Anointed to Serve, and Anointed with Vision. Our General Overseer blessed us with a message and challenge in our evening service

Thursday: We continued with Anointed Vision, Anointed to Grow, and Anointed to Reach the Young Harvest.

Friday: We continued with Anointed to Lead, Anointed Mission Involvement, and Anointed Leadership Development.

Saturday: Anointed in Our Homes, Anointed for the Miraculous, and Anointed for the World.

Sunday: We concluded with Anointed to Go Make Disciples.

Out of all the sessions I made, I enjoyed the fellowship of fellow saints the most. It is encouraging to be together and know you are not in this journey alone.

I really had a good time Friday afternoon visiting the Mission booths. It was wonderful to see what folks are doing all over the world. Of course I bought some trinkets from different countries to share with my church family. This is probably where I picked up the bug I came home with but it was worth it just to see the smiles on everyone’s faces.

There were so many things I was blessed to see and hear but space will not allow me to continue. David Bryant blessed us with the word, a class by Bubba Cardin on Raising  L E A D E RS was wonderful and one by Vinson Synan on Holiness was great.

Since many of you were unable to attend I just wanted to share a little bit. And oh yes, I almost forgot the Bahamas Brass Band blessed us as they have for many years. I must quit too many things coming to mind; let us pray everywhere for God’s anointing to lead us on our journey. Christ will return and I believe he is coming soon.
