Mending Broken Lives
By Jim Burns

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

James 1:17

He had only one eye and his arm was dangling by a thread. But four-year-old Hannah loved Bear. Bear always accompanied her to Sunday School. One day her teacher suggested the class pray for people who were sick and hurting. The children prayed for hungry children around the world, sick relatives, and broken relationships. Hannah put her arms around poor, tattered Bear. She prayed, "Dear Jesus, please make Bear better."

Then Hannah had such a good time at church, she forgot Bear and left without him. One of Hannah's teachers, who heard her prayer took Bear home to "heal" him. She replaced both eyes with pretty new buttons and sewed the arm back on. When she gave Bear back to Hannah on the next Sunday, Hannah was filled with joy. "God fixed Bear," she said.

What Hannah would later understand about God, is that sometimes He heals directly; other times he uses people like her Sunday School teacher to sew our bears together and help mend the broken parts of our lives.

I pray this lesson helps each of you today. Thanks for sharing Gerri.

SIMPLICITY #79502172013

SIMPLICITY
What I like about our Lord is he spoke with simplicity. He told his story and paid the supreme price by laying down his life for you and me. I try every time I share to keep it simple just like my Lord did. This song came to my mind and hope sharing it will help you reach someone today. The song says “souls are dying, men are crying.”
As we look all around us,
All the fields are white,
They're ripened unto harvest,
Yet so quickly comes the night.
Christians must get busy,
There's so much work to do.
Here's an urgent task awaiting you.

Souls are crying, men are dying,
Won't you lead them to the cross.
Go and find them, Please help to win them
Win the lost at any cost.

Check your fold, my christian brother,
See if all your children are in.
Are there some still straying in the
Blackened fields of sin.
You must go out and win them,
Go quickly without delay,
Soon the trump of God shall end the day.

Go out and win, rescue from sin,
Day’s almost done, and the battle’s almost won.
Souls are crying, men are dying,
Win the lost at any cost.
Will you take time for souls today? In order to win one you must know the Lord yourself. Start with placing your hands in the one that stills the waters and then be about our Father’s business of proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

WHERE DO I BEGIN #79402102012

WHERE DO I BEGIN
God in all his marvelous beauty has taken time to bless me in so many ways, I simply say, where do I begin?
This week has been filled with the love of God. He has provided all my needs and many of the desires of my heart. I just want to take a moment and say thank you Lord, thank you for all you have done to make life so complete.
As we continue to read the Bible thru together this week I have felt such a bond with God and my wife as we read and listen to God in our daily scriptures. Some are boring such when we read and this one begat and that one begat but then we come across a golden nugget that speaks to us and draws us closer to the Lord.
Our hearts have been uplifted when we hear of answered prayers and heavy when we see request of those in distress or sickness in their life or home. We’ve prayed for our children their children, you and your children and know God is there to see you through.
Tonight we took time to join the Rominger family and friends and have a hot dog and chili as they played games, laughed and had a good time together. Since all my wife’s family are saved now they have such a good time together and it’s wonderful to see the joy of the Lord in their faces.
This week we have been blessed to visit with those that are sick and in need of healing. Although their pain is not completely relieved it’s good to come together and give a little love and receive a little love. You see, we all have our little world that we battle with but it’s wonderful to know we have family and friends to share the load with us as we trust God for all our needs.
Folks if you don’t know Jesus you have a hard time getting anything out of this. If you know the Lord you can sense and feel the presence of the Lord as the Holy Spirit touches our heart and gives us the words to share.
My heart cries out to each of you that need the Lord tonight, lift up your eyes to Jesus, confess your sins, ask for forgiveness and receive him. There is such joy when you know that if you were to die tonight you have no question in your mind about where you will spend eternity. Start your day with Jesus, end your day with Jesus and allow him to feed your soul.
And now you can join me in lifting up your eyes and singing praises to God who reigns on high. Give thanks unto our creator; give thanks to Jesus who gave his life that you may be free right now. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct you as you walk each step of the way.
The table is set, Jesus is coming, be ready to meet him and enjoy everything he has prepared for you.

THE POTTER AND THE CLAY #79302072013

THE POTTER AND THE CLAY
By Robin Dugall
A special thanks to “Gerri” for sharing this”
“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. “
Jeremiah 18:6

According to today’s Scripture, God deals with His people as a potter who molds clay.

He takes His creative hands and wraps them around us with loving and forceful care.

He pounds and molds and works us. He has a vision of a beautiful creation in mind.

He shapes each one of us a son or daughter of the Kingdom. It’s true, clay sometimes isn't as responsive as the potter would like it to be, but in His skilled hands, some new shape, new form, new beauty, new life will be the result.

We all wonder, “What’s happening to me?” during the trying or painful experiences of our lives. Did you ever consider that perhaps it is at that very moment that the shaping of the Potter is occurring in ways you could never understand or appreciate?

Pottery is only created as the clay is moldable in the hands of the craftsman that enables it to evolve from worthless earth to a thing of beauty. The beauty of the final creation is what the Potter has in mind as He shapes and molds.

God’s molding and shaping is an ongoing process. Don’t get too wrapped up in how it will take place in the future because there is enough shaping going on in your life today! The future of what God has in store for your life will be beautiful as you stay pliable in His loving hands. And remember, any hurt that accompanies God’s shaping process is for your good. Today, may your heart stay soft and open to The Potter’s work!

HEAVEN WILL SURELY BE WORTH IT ALL

This song came to my heart and mind this morning and thought I would share it with you ole folks and enlighten some of you young folks. People write songs from the heart and we are blessed as they share and we receive it from them

WRITTEN BY W. OLIVER COOPER & MINZO C. JONES
COPYRIGHT 1946
WRITTEN IN THE CHORD OF F

VERSE 1
OFTEN I'M HINDERED ON MY WAY, BURDEN SO HEAVY I ALMOST FALL
THEN I HEAR JESUS SWEETLY SAY, HEAVEN WILL SURELY BE WORTH IT ALL
VERSE 2
MANY THE TRIALS TOILS AND TEARS, MANY A HEARTACHE MAY HERE APPALL
BUT THE DEAR LORD SO TRUELY SAYS, HEAVEN WILL SURELY BE WORTH IT ALL
VERSE 3
TOILING AND PAIN I WILL ENDURE, TILL I SHALL HEAR THE DEATH ANGEL CALL
JESUS HAS PROMISED AND I'M SURE, HEAVEN WILL SURELY BE WORTH IT ALL

CHORUS
HEAVEN WILL SURELY BE WORTH IT ALL, WORTH ALL THE SORROWS THAT HERE BEFALL
AFTER THIS LIFE WITH ALL ITS STRIFE, HEAVEN WILL SURELY BE WORTH IT ALL

It is good sometimes to just think about what God is preparing for us and thank him for his love each day as we prepare to go and receive our reward when he calls us home. It’s not morbid as some would have you think, its strength for the day and our hope of tomorrow.

Another writer wrote I’m looking for Jesus to come some day but as I look I want to fulfill the commission giving to each of us to share the love of Jesus with others and help them know for sure they are ready should he call today. Are you ready?
