JESUS LOVES ME!!!

Thanks for sharing Edwina

While watching a little TV on Sunday instead of going to church, I watched a church in Atlanta honoring one of its senior pastors who had been retired many years. He was 92 at that time and I wondered why the church even bothered to ask the old gentleman to preach at that age.

After a warm welcome, introduction of this speaker, and as the applause quieted down, he rose from his high back chair and walked slowly, with great effort and a sliding gait to the podium. Without a note or written paper of any kind he placed both hands on the pulpit to steady himself and then quietly and slowly he began to speak....

"When I was asked to come here today and talk to you, your pastor asked me to tell you what was the greatest lesson ever learned in my 50-odd years of preaching. I thought about it for a few days and boiled it down to just one thing that made the most difference in my life and sustained me through all my trials.. The one thing that I could always rely on when tears and heartbreak and pain and fear and sorrow paralyzed me... the only thing that would comfort was this verse........

"Jesus loves me this I know.

For the Bible tells me so.

Little ones to Him belong,

We are weak but He is strong.....

Yes, Jesus loves me....

The Bible tells me so."

The old pastor stated, "I always noticed that it was the adults who chose the children's hymn 'Jesus Loves Me' (for the children of course) during a hymn sing, and it was the adults who sang the loudest because I could see they knew it the best."

"Here for you now is a Senior version of Jesus Loves Me":

JESUS LOVES ME

Jesus loves me, this I know,

Though my hair is white as snow

Though my sight is growing dim,

Still He bids me trust in Him.

(CHORUS)

YES, JESUS LOVES ME... YES, JESUS LOVES ME...

YES, JESUS LOVES ME, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,

With my hand in His I'll go

On through life, let come what may,

He'll be there to lead the way.

(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,

In my heart He puts a song...

Telling me in words so clear,

"Have no fear, for I am near."

(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,

And life's victories have been won.

He will take me home above,

Then I'll understand His love.

(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?

Have I ever told Him so?

Jesus loves to hear me say,

That I love Him every day.

(CHORUS)

How long has it been since you told Jesus you love Him? He loves to hear it just like you do.

P.S. And please get up and go to church next Sunday.

REMEMBER

"Spring Up Oh Well"

"Spring Up Oh Well" "I'm the one" We are going to fight the Famine, this is the place, the devil is not going to weaken our faith, We are going to spring up, I am going to move and God is going to move. Get up Gene, me Lord? Yes, you get up "Spring Up Oh Well" Oh Hallelujah, This is the place and God is neigh. Lord help my weaknesses become strong in you and my strengths become stronger as I go forth in you. Help me get in the field. I'm having me a spell right now, thank you Lord, take this biscuit, bless it, break it, take this fish and share it with the people.

Lord I am looking for children, youth, and adults to join with us as we seek souls and bless them with your word and watch you save them, heal them, and provide their needs.

Lord I’m searching for children and a teacher to lead them, youth and a leader to lead them, young adults and a leader to lead them, adults and a leader to lead them, singers to bless us in song and lead us in music. Lord touch hearts in our area, give them a heart to bless souls at our local church at Union Grove.

Lord we are going into the field, direct our steps, direct our path as we search for the workers needed to bring all of this to pass in Jesus name I pray.

Has God touched your heart to be “the one” “to spring up” to help this happen at Union Grove? Then get up come make it happen as God leads us to do all he directs us to do.

God told Abram to sojourn and I don’t find where he talked about it thought about it or lingered. He got up left the comfort he had and sojourned. And Abram was blessed above all measure as he obeyed God.

Lord help me and those you are talking to with this writing to obey your voice and do it today. Oh Hallelujah! This is the place, this is the moment you have given me to be the one.

Will you obey the spirit of God as he directs you to join us and allow Him to direct you in helping this happen? Will you say yes Lord? Do it now in Jesus name I pray. Join us Sunday 10:00-12:00 for Sunday School and Morning Worship.

To those who do not live in our area the same message is for you Spring Up and allow God to direct you into the field in your area and reach souls for Jesus Christ. Declare “I’m the One.”

I'VE HAD A HARD TIME WRITING THIS WEEK #678

I’ve Had a Hard Time Writing This Week

I’ve had a hard time getting my mind on writing this week. My lovely mom continues to hang on even when it seems like it’s impossible. I love her and it’s hard to watch her lay there and unable to speak or sing or share in her normal way. She is so precious and has blessed us in so many ways. I love you mom.

Now I ask myself what mom would tell me to do. She would say write son, continue to uplift Christ in your words. Therefore, I am endeavoring to write this morning. As I write I continue to pray God’s will with mom’s health and life. I placed her in God’s hands and prayed His will when she had the stroke in December and again a few days ago when she had a heart attack.

Even though she is in your hands Lord it is not easy to let her go but we have released her to you. Mom there is so much I think of as you have always been there for me. I remember the little horses you drew as a child for us to color; I remember the tears you shed for all us boys over the years but most of all I remember you taught us about Jesus from the time we were babies and even now as you lay there unable to verbally speak.

You are so precious, Jesus truly loves us because he allowed us to have a God fearing loving mother to raise us and share the goodness of God even when things may not have looked so good to us.

I know the Lord is worthy of all praise, but I want to lift you up a little bit too as I ponder and remember all the things you have taught me. One thing I hope I always do is pray for people like you do. I know if I want someone to get a prayer thru I should call you and you will call your prayer partners and seek God for my need.

Mom you are the best, I hope us boys will continue your love to others and help those in needs even the stray cats you feed that you say are not yours. It was sad in December as they would come to your back door patiently waiting in the ice and snow for you to throw out your scraps and you were not there. Little things mean a lot even to the neighborhood animals.

Well, I need to get some rest, it will be time to go preach in a few short minutes and I know you would tell me to tell everyone about the love of Jesus. It doesn’t matter how rough things are you would always kick your mind and heart in gear and say “now listen to me complain, God is so good to us.” I’ll talk to you later mom, thank you for all you have done. You are the best.

THE MAGICAL BANK #67703052011

The MAGICAL BANK

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400.00 in your private account for your use.

However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules.

The first set of rules would be:

Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you.

You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

You may only spend it.

Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400.00 for that day.

The second set of rules:

The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, it’s over, the game is over! It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted right? Not only for yourself, but for all people you love, right? Even for people you don't know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right? You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY This GAME is REALITY!

Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just can't seem to see it.

The MAGICAL BANK is TIME!

Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us.

What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost.

Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time....WITHOUT WARNING.

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars.

Think about that, and always think of this:

Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be Happy, Love deeply and enjoy life!

Here's wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day.

Start spending.

As you start spending remember the Lord thy God thy Creator. Thanks for sharing with us Gerri
