I received this from my Aunt Mary Ann. I loved it and want to share it with you...

Why do I have a variety of friends who are all so different in character? How can I get along with them all? I think that each one helps to bring out a "different" part of me.

With one of them I am polite. I joke with another friend.

I sit down and talk about serious matters with one. With another I laugh a lot. I may have a coke with one. I listen to one friend's problems. Then I listen to another one's advice for me.

My friends are all like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. When completed, they form a treasure box. A treasure of friends! They are my friends who understand me better than myself, who support me through good days and bad days. We all pray together and for each other.

THOUGHTS TO GO

I was just sitting here thinking about this week and all the blessings God has bestowed upon me. He is the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end. What a wonderful God I serve.

Just think he allowed me to get up each with my aches and pains and helped me up and down the stairs of which I often wonder if I can make it up or down. Down the street I go with the dogs as Lady Di wakes up the neighborhood with her shrill voice and Little Bit runs ahead to his favorite spots each day.

Some days have been right down cold and others cool as we brave the rain some mornings and see the bright sun shine warming our backs on others. I find myself checking for cars so we stay out of their path as some are heading to work and others to school.

Today it was getting up early time to help my precious daughter get her truck to the garage and get her to work on time. Now, up again, around town again to take care of the business at hand and back again to garage and home again and back again to get the now repaired truck back in my daughters hand and off to home we go again.

Just another day and another moment in the life of the Dasher’s as we continue our journey here on earth.

A few moments ago I was blessed to make face book contact with an ole Army buddy I haven’t seen since we were in Vietnam in 1967. Although we rarely have contact it’s great to have a friend that knows what our life was many days ago.

I am so thankful God has blessed me with friends and family all over the globe. One thing most of us have in common is our love for God. God is so good to us. There is nothing we could ever do to repay him for his love but maybe somehow as we share his love someone will be touched by the Master and desire to join us in heaven some day.

Like I said “thoughts to go”, this is what’s on my mind, hope you have the peace of God in your heart and life as you continue your journey and see Jesus face to face some sweet day.

“What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see and he takes me by the hand and leads me to the promise land.” Hope to see you there. “Heaven will surely be worth it all.”

PURITY - HOLD OUT THE WORD

We must hold out the message of God’s Word or hold the Word of life to people. And who is the Word of life? Jesus. The word became flesh and dwelt among us, John said. Are you holding out the word to anyone? In other words, are you talking to anyone about the Lord?

All of us need to hold out the Word of God or the message of the gospel to others any chance we get! Willingness is a big part of getting the job done. We don’t need a Bible College degree to do the work. We just need a heart for others!

Romans 1:16 ⁶For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek...”
Purity in the eyes of God is a matter of loving people enough to hold out His Word, His gospel to them!

After a violent storm one night, a large tree, which over the years had become a stately giant, was found lying across the pathway in a park. Nothing but a splintered stump was left. Closer examination showed that it was rotten at the core because thousands of tiny insects had eaten away at its heart. The weakness of that tree was not brought on by the sudden storm; it began the very moment the first insect nested within its bark.

Is this not similar to us? We can look good on the outside, be neatly dressed, even have good manners, but on the inside there could be a certain amount of rottenness?

Hebrews 12:14 “¹⁴Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

We all need to strive for purity or holiness in our lives. If there ever was a “must” for life, this is it. Keep working at your faith. Don’t complain. Live to lead people to Christ.

PURITY - DON’T COMPLAIN

¹⁴Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

¹⁵That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned down cause he was too cold, and so on for about half an hour. Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient; he walked back and forth and never once got angry.

So finally, a second customer asked him why he didn’t throw out the pest." Oh, I really don’t care or mind," said the waiter with a smile. "We don’t even have an air conditioner."

Some people are quick to complain about anything and everything and even when there is nothing to complain about!

The people of Israel were notorious for grumbling or complaining. They grumbled about the lack of food, or the crummy food, the lack of water, and so on.

Do you get the idea that the Lord wasn’t happy with them and isn’t happy with us when we complain and grumble? That is what our 31 day fast from complaining has been about this month at our church.

It may be easy to complain about life but it’s not the best thing. The better way of life is to do something good or something positive to help a given situation.

Complainers don’t give the impression of purity or a holy life. But God desires holiness or purity of us.
