There Is But One God

I Corinthians 8:5-6

“For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we by him.”

What’s the beef? God is God and He always will be God. Man can conjure up anything he wants and call it god but man is like the grass in the field he will vanish away.

Are you tired of hearing leave God out of school, out of the pledge of allegiance, out of the oath of office for our leaders? Well, I am too! Guess what? You can leave it out of everything you want to but you can’t take it out of my heart and you can’t stop one from proclaiming He is our God and He will reign supreme.

Religions may come and go but God is and He rewards those that diligently seek him. I proclaim there is no left or right with God there is but the straight and narrow way that leads to life eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Man may seek to destroy us and all we believe and practice from the word of God but in the end the battle is not ours said little David. It’s thine Lord and I’m in your favor. I’ve given it all to you for I know not what to do. Lord, I’m so glad you are really all I need, Lord, help me today to leave it in your care and go on about the work you have given me to do. I am on the winning team for the end of the book says we win with you. The score may be 100 to 0 but I have no fear for the victory is ours. Praise the Lord.

I thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, I thank you Lord. Oh let the joy flow from deep within my soul, let my praises be acceptable to your ears today as I lift my voice in adoration glorying thy name. Oh, Hallelujah! I want to proclaim Him today. As I write its just like I can hear it coming from my precious mother when she gets excited in a service and lifts up your name and proclaims, Oh, Hallelujah! You know when she is being blessed and I know I am blessed today because your presence is so real. Let the glories roll from within you right now and praise His name.

I’ll close for now because I feel I need to rejoice in the heavenly language for a spell and receive from our Lord that I have need of for today.

Dry Spell

Have you ever had a dry spell? There is nothing wrong everything is wonderful but down deep within the well is dry. This is where I have been for a few days. I ask my lovely wife to pray for me and she has been doing just that all week. God truly blessed me with a wonderful spouse to help me through times like these. God is so good one can never repay him for his love and care.

Join me in the word today in Hebrews 13 as we find a way to have:

“Service will pleasing to God.”

1Let brotherly love continue.
2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

There is so much food here it was hard to condense it. Everyone is worried about our economy. Actually to be honest each one is concerned about there individual family. The 5th verse tells us to be content and to remember he will not leave us nor forsake us.

With our little pea brain this is hard to swallow when we are losing homes and jobs and any hope of what to do. However, I encourage you to cling to God’s word and be at peace and good cheer because his promises are everlasting. Continue to do the good things you have been doing. The devil is a liar and the author of confusion. Satan will not stand by you, he will forsake you and his promises lead to destruction.

On a side note I read one good thing about our economy, divorces have decreased. People are having to band together to make things happen in their life. Praise the Lord.

Finally, take the 18th verse and let’s join together in prayer that we have a good conscience and live honestly and do “Service well pleasing to God.”

18Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

What Was Christmas For?

What was Christmas truly for, as on the Season we close that door?

As a New Year for all starts and the Christmas Season now departs.

Does the Christmas spirit depart, from each and every human heart?

As Christmas trim is tucked away, will the spirit in some hearts stay?

Was Christmas truly meant for this, for once a year to change gifts?

Especially within the hearts of us, who in The Savior place our trust?

Shouldn’t Christmas that we know, be His Light in us for all to show,

The Truth and life we have in Him, who came to dwell forever within?

Should not Christmas be a song, we sing in our hearts all year long?

As in our hearts we joyfully sing, to Jesus Christ, our Lord and King.

A song which should never leave, the heart of those who do believe,

Saved by Grace from this world, with that Christmas Song to herald.

A song we sing all year through, as The Spirit moves in me and you,

To be a light men need each day, not just thought of Christmas day,

Song and light, throughout the year, which every man needs to hear,

This, so men may see their need, that God’s message they will heed.

Some men desire Christmas in July, but, did you ever question why?

A time when gifts aren’t bought at all; could it be music to their soul?

Maybe the songs that they heard, moved their hearts to God’s Word,

With a message, when not ignored, could draw any soul to The Lord.

2008 Has Come and Gone

What we did in Christ will last. Now, let us begin 2009 focused on continuing in Christ and complete all he places in our hands to do with vigor and might.

Happy New Year everyone! I fought as hard as I could to stay up and watch the new ball drop in New York and barely made it and then my party was in dream land.

Join me in the word as Nathan the prophet came unto David after he had gone in to Bathsheba and committed sin. This is a prayer for cleansing.

Psalm 51:1-12

1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

David has done a great evil in his life but now he seeks forgiveness. As we begin 2009 may we come boldly before the throne of grace and seek God’s forgiveness of anything we have failed in or come short in and put it under His blood as we go forward in Him.

May we desire to be well-pleasing to God and seek him diligently as we face the days he grants us this year. I want to have joy and gladness as the Lord continually creates in me a clean heart and renews a right spirit.

Five Finger Prayer 552

Five Finger Prayer

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Think on these things as you hustle through this Christmas season.

Greetings and Merry Christmas to All

I hope you are enjoying the joy that one experiences when they know

Jesus as their Lord and Savior in this Christmas season. It is

wonderful to hear the songs and watch the faces of everyone as they

busy themselves getting ready to have family time and enjoy the true

reason for the season.

Yes, Jesus is still the reason for the season. It’s time to share and

give love to one another but most all of to remember Jesus made the

season possible. I know, no one wants to agree on a date certain for

the birth of Jesus but in reality it would be great to celebrate his

birth everyday of the year.

Just think if everyone was as forgiving each day as they are this

season we would have such a wonderful world. I think we would have no

more wars, families would be at peace and divorces would never shatter

the little hearts of our children and mankind would be blessed beyond

measure.

Love is what makes the world go around. And the Bible tells us God is Love, and Love is of God. God loved us so much that he gave his only

begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus is the best Christmas gift anyone can receive at anytime. Will

you accept Him as your gift today? The Bible says the angels in heaven

rejoice when one returns to God. I know I rejoice each time I hear or

see someone who has accepted this gift.

Yes, its Christmas time and when you know the Lord it’s a great day of

peace and joy and celebration.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
