Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

There is a story in the Bible where we can read about a spiritual season, a time when things change dramatically in the life of a young boy. We read how he is given instruction on how to prepare himself for the season, a season where he shifts from not knowing God to knowing His voice and walking with Him. I think it is so for all of us—every season we face, we have an opportunity to listen, grow, learn, and change; to posture ourselves to hear the Lord’s voice, receive instruction, and walk closely with Him. by Selenia Vera  4/11/19  Christian Living

The complete story can be found in the first book of Samuel.

Read with me 1 Samuel 3:1-10 KJV

And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.10 And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

Are you able to say to God “Speak: for thy servant heareth.”

Ene of 2020 Is Near

End of 2020 Is Near

What a year it has been, 2020 will go down in history as a very challenging time in many lives. We have seen things we never thought were possible in particular the COVID 19 virus.

Lives have been forever changed in many ways. We have lost friends and love one that we never dreamed of but in the midst of it all we cling to the promises of God in his word and know it’s still in the palm of his hand.

It sure makes you want to cling to God and read and study his word and draw closer to him. We have never seen such disgust and hatred of Christians in a long time. Makes one think on Mark 13:13 which says "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Makes you want to go back to Sunday School and sing “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong, Yes Jesus loves me…”  It was simple days and I like it simple as I rest in the arms of Jesus.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6). ... God will quench the thirst of those who desire him as a man walking in the Arizona desert with a dry canteen craves water. There's nothing casual about this kind of thirst.

Do you hunger for God today? Lord I pray we fulfill your will on earth so that God will allow the trumpet to sound and you come and receive us unto you.

2 Cor 1 3-5 says Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

God is with us and he gives us peace and joy in these difficult times. Have a good week as we finish 2020.

"Hope Amidst Turbulence and Tribulation"

Nick Price

This is my Sunday School Teacher at Union Grove. I am so proud of him and he gave me permission to share this poem he just wrote.

Good evening, blessed family and friends. I am inspired to compose a poem that there will be good coming out of all this affliction:

All through our lives, we often find

The grass is not always green, even on our side

But God is all- knowing, loving and kind

And especially- he shows up and shows out through affliction in our minds.

When we surrender all to God- He does not always promise easy roads

But what he DOES promise is a blessing- angels in the midst of the storm to guide our boats.

While the cross is heavy along with the burdens we bear

Let us all see now that no matter the weight- God will always care.

So through this time of unrest, and through uncertainty

There will always be reassurance, and the Almighty near thee.

And always to one another show each other love

For there is coming a day when all our work is done, and our everlasting wages will be up above.

Nick taught his first Sunday School Class last quarter and he has blessed us and amazed us with his preparation each week. Lift him up in prayer as he continues to grow in the Lord. It is a joy to share Nick with you

All Over the World the Spirit is Moving (Roy Turner)

As I think about Christmas and how good God has been to me, I get excited. With all the bad and good that’s going on in this world today my mind goes back to how baby Jesus was born, grew up, and died on the cross at Calvary to save me from all my sins. Oh, I praise His name forever.

Are you thankful for Christmas? If you are let this spirit get a hold of you right here, right now and bless your soul and you bless others as you rejoice in Jesus

All Over The World, The Spirit Is Moving
All Over The World As The Prophet Said It Would Be
All Over The World There’s A Mighty Revelation
Of The Glory Of The Lord, As The Waters Cover The
Sea

All Over His Church God’s Spirit Is Moving
All Over His Church As The Prophet Said It Would

All Over His Church, There’s A Mighty Revelation

Right Here In This Place, The Spirit Is Moving
Right Here In This Place As The Prophet Said It

Folks we need have no fear because this same Jesus is coming soon.

When a Woman Speaks
Shared on FB by Rita Jackson, #womenofGodspeak

When a woman speaks, amazing things happen. She speaks with knowledge and authority but also with love and tenderness. She speaks with pain and sorrow but also with hope and courage. She speaks with elegance and grace but also with                                           power and anointing. She speaks to her Father in prayer and changes the destiny of nations, families, and friends.
Yes, when a woman speaks the earth moves. When Leah spoke, “She named him Judah, for she said, “Now I will praise the Lord!” When Hannah spoke, she said, “I am the very woman who stood here several years ago praying to the Lord…and he has granted my request.” When Esther spoke she said, “If I have found favor with the king, and when Ruth spoke she said, “Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.” When Elizabeth spoke, she said, “When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy.” When Mary spoke, she said “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!” When Anna spoke, “she began praising God. She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for God to rescue Jerusalem.” When the Samaritan woman spoke, she said, “He told me everything I ever did!”
Women of God, speak! Because when you do, the Father listens and the impossible happens.
I find it amazing how God continues to use women in our lives today, thank you ladies for all you do to share God’s love and bless us in so many ways. I can only add Proverbs 31 covers it all and verse 30 and 31 in particular.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

LOOK AHEAD
I share of post from  Face book that blessed me. (Musa Wawuyo Mussa)

The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.
Proverbs 14:8.
A head coach is thought to be eccentric because of how extensively he plans and plays in advance of each game. Most coaches would wait to see how the game unfolded, then respond with plays that seemed appropriate. But a good Coach wants always a game to respond to him.
Looking ahead is the process of creating the future before it happens. People who learn to do it “understand where they are going.” It involves deciding your actions in advance so that your life will respond to you. What are the benefits of such a proactive pursuit?
Looking ahead gives direction. It’s like using a highlighter on a roadmap to indicate where you are, where you are going, and how you are going to get there. The highlighted roadmap not only provides information for where you are going; it also suggests where you are not going.
Looking ahead helps us to create rather than react. With each step along our journey, we are faced with a choice either to create or to react. Many people spend their entire days reacting. Like goalies in hockey, with pucks flying at us all day, we react. We react to news, cars in traffic, people, events, challenges, and obstacles. A better way involves making choices and following plans.
Looking ahead saves time. “One hour of planning saves three hours of execution.” Planning yields a savings return. We only have twenty-four hours in a day and 365 days in a year. If we don’t use them wisely by looking ahead, we will forever forfeit those gifts.
Looking ahead reduces crisis. Our daily lives have two controlling influences: plans and pressures. When we look ahead and choose to plan, we take charge and control of our days. If we fail to look ahead, we will spend our days in crisis mode. We will fall into a trap of panic planning—planning on the fly with no time to effectively map out a strategy.
Looking ahead maximizes energy. Failing to look ahead, we dissipate our energy on less important matters, improper agendas, and lost crusades. We waste our time on the trivial many. But preparation often energizes us! Be wise. Look ahead. It’s eccentric but well worth the effort.
Good advice, take time to acknowledge God and lean not to your own understanding. All is well when we trust Him with all our thoughts and plans. Don’t be a fool.

I Delight to do thy will O God

Lord, here I am one more time asking your will and your way, help me to know what you want me to do today, help me to show someone the way. Doing God’s will sometimes means waiting patiently. While we wait, we can love God, serve others, and tell others about him. Read with me Psalms 40

40 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

The Lord be magnified. I delight to do thy will O my God. Have a wonderful week with Jesus .

The Earth is Full of the Goodness of the Lord

The Earth is Full of the Goodness of the Lord

For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Regardless of what man may say, whether politically correct or not, regardless of the scientific efforts to disprove, the word of the Lord is right and his works are done in truth.

Look around you at the goodness of the Lord. Today, I may see a little rain, I may see the fog, I may see the sun shine, I may see ice and snow but it is all part of God’s goodness. He knows when we need whatever comes our way.

Today, I went to the doctor and I see the goodness he is trying to do for me and others. I look outside and see the joy a beautiful cardinal brings me as it reminds me of my dad’s love for them. I pull up to a church and see a big black crow perched on the door handle bringing a laugh and seeing just how great our world is with all God shares with us.

As I sit waiting for my doctor I see so many people in worse shape than I am. Thank you Lord, I see my precious wife who is taking care of me faithfully, oh, yes, I see the goodness of 53 years of marriage you have given us Lord.

When I think of the goodness of God I just want to sing praising unto him for his mercy endures forever. I can hear my mom cry out “Oh Hallelujah” when she would get happy in the Lord. I want to continue that same spirit in my life.

So, I declare, look around you, there is no time for anything but giving praise to the Lord. I sing his praises everyday and I encourage you to do the same.
