THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Gal. 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

 ²³Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

“The fruit of the spirit is love.” Only as we live in love can we fulfill the will of God in our lives. The believer must become love inspired, love mastered and love driven.

II Cor. 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

Without the fruit of the spirit, we are just a religious noise.

I Cor. 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

The fruit of the spirit is love, and it is manifested in joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:

Joy is love’s strength.

Peace is love’s security.

Longsuffering is love’s patience.

Gentleness is love’s conduct.

Goodness is love’s character.

Faith is love’s confidence.

Meekness is love’s humility.

Temperance is love’s victory.

AGAINST SUCH THERE IS NO LAW

A Holy Spirit controlled person needs no law to cause him to live a righteous life. The secret of a Spirit controlled life is found in Rom 12:1-2:

 ¹I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

 ²And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Put your all on the altar and the Holy Spirit will fill your heart with the love of God.

Rom. 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Some notes are from Porter Barrington The Christian Life studies)

I pray you use the Fruit of the Spirit in all your endeavors in life. What a blessing you will receive as you continue your walk with the Lord.

THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Acts 16:7-14: ⁷Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

 ⁸And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

 ⁹Of sin, because they believe not on me;

 ¹⁰Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

 ¹¹Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

 ¹²I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

 ¹³Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

 ¹⁴He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

This is the word of God, I pray you receive it and continue to grow in the Lord as you read His word and allow His spirit to guide you. He has an answer for you today. Take time to be alone with God and allow Him to open your eyes to see His will for you.

UP UP UP AND AWAY!

It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane, it’s our Lord ascending just like he said. Wow! What an experience that must have been for those gathered together listening as our Lord gave his last words and then ascended into heaven.

Read with me three places in God’s word that shares our story.

Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Luke 24: 50-53 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

⁵¹And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

⁵²And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

⁵³And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Acts 1:9-11 ⁹And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

¹⁰And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

¹¹Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

UP UP UP and away HE ASCENDED, it’s not a UFO, its JESUS CHRIST as he went up into heaven. Are you ready for his return today? Help me Lord to stay alert and ready should this be that very day. Wow! What a day that will be. HE IS COMING SOON. HEAVEN is real and HELL is to be shunned at all cost.

WOW! WHAT A WEEK FOR JESUS

Have you ever had a week where it started out with everyone praising you and lifting you up? Then as the week progressed these very same folks turn on you and it seems like it’s the worse week of your life. But then it turns and you are lifted up and know that it is the strength of God that made the way for you to rejoice in the Lord.

Well, Jesus had even a worse week than you but he went all the way to the cross after being praised as he entered Jerusalem and he was lifted up on a cross, died, and was resurrected on that third day by these same folks that sang praises to him. Jesus became sin for us, he shed his precious blood on the cross bringing Salvation to all who will receive him.

Now, your week wasn’t so bad after all was it? Jesus was willing to lay down his life that you might have a hope of eternally life in him. “Oh, what a Savior, Oh Hallelujah, he gave his life’s blood for you and me.”

Can you picture Jesus as he agonizes in the garden? Read with me Luke 22:39-46

³⁹And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

⁴⁰And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

⁴¹And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

⁴²Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

⁴³And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

⁴⁴And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁴⁵And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

⁴⁶And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

Jesus set the example in prayer. Before the week began he took time with the Father to agonize and seek for removal of this cup, yet he was willing to submit his will to the Father’s will and rest in him. Then he arose and was ready to be about the Father’s business. The Father’s business wasn’t pleasant in that he was mocked, beat, and crucified. Yet on that third day he arose a victor and today he reigns forever. Thank you Jesus!

Lord help me to take the time to come before you and agonize over what you would have me to do each day. Lord help me to follow your example and accept your will and get up and go forth and do the work you have set before me in Jesus name I pray.

HE AROSE! HE LIVES! Will you receive life and walk with him today?
