APRIL FOOL

Psalm 14:1

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psalm 53:1

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings.

Since its April Fool Day I thought I would share my desire to see the “fool” know there is a God.

Most of you have heard the story of the judge in Florida that snopes.com says is false. Snopes.com states however that “The power of illustrative anecdotes often lies not in how well they present reality, but in how well they reflect the core beliefs of their audience. Here is the post.”

In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the preparation for Easter and Passover holidays and decided to contact the local ACLU about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while the atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The ACLU jumped on the opportunity to once again pick up the cause of the godless and assigned their sharpest attorneys to the case. The case was brought before a wise judge who after listening to the long, passionate presentation of the ACLU lawyers, promptly banged his gavel and declared, "Case dismissed!"

The lead ACLU lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? Surely the Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. And the Jews — why in addition to Passover they have Yom Kippur and Hanukkah . . . and yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!"

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said "Obviously your client is too confused to know about, or for that matter, even celebrate the atheists' holiday!"

The ACLU lawyer pompously said: "We are aware of no such holiday for atheists. Just when might that be, Your Honor?"

The judge said, "Well, it comes every year on exactly the same date — April 1st!"

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." Psalm 14:1, Psalm 53:1

HOORAY FOR THIS JUDGE

It is sad anyone would believe there is no God. Therefore I want to declare that Jesus is Lord and he died for the sins of even the “fool” who proclaims there is no God. I pray on this April 1, 2012 you repent of your sins and receive Jesus. Then you can celebrate Easter next week with Jesus in your heart. In reality I have never believed there is a true atheist but I know there is a true GOD.

REMEMBER

“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

REASONS TO READ PSALMS

Tyndale KJV Life Applications Bible outline on Psalms

When you want Read

To find comfort Psalm 23

To meet God intimately Psalm 103

To learn a new prayer Psalm 136

To learn a new song Psalm 92

To learn more about God Psalm 24

To understand yourself more clearly Psalm 8

To know how to come to God each day Psalm 5

To be forgiven for your sins Psalm 51

To feel worthwhile Psalm 139

To understand why you should read the Bible Psalm 119

To give praise to God Psalm 145

To know that God is in control Psalm 146

To give thanks to God Psalm 136

To please God Psalm 15

To know why you should worship God Psalm 104

God’s word was written to be studied, understood, and applied, and the book of Psalms lends itself most directly to application. We understand Psalms best when we “stand under” them and allow them to flow over us like a rain shower.

We may turn to Psalms looking for something, but sooner or later we will meet Someone. As we read and memorize the psalms, we will gradually discover how much they are already part of us. They put into words our deepest hurts, longings, thoughts, and prayers. They gently push us toward being what God designed us to be---people loving and living for him.

This is a good outline to get one started. I often tell people when they don’t know what to do to just read Psalms until it talks to them. It never takes me long to be lifted up and encouraged to get up and move on for God.

HE IS GOD #74403162012

HE IS GOD

He is the First and Last,
The Beginning and the End!

He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be ...
unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!

He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him, and The leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him, and "Oprah" can't explain Him away!

He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.

His ways are right,
His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me.
He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy,
He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and He rules my life!

I serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.

I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful,
the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.

His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me,
never forsake me,
never mislead me,
never forget me,
never overlook me and
never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!

When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!

He is everything for everybody everywhere, every time, and every way.

He is God, He is faithful. I am His, and He is mine!

My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.
So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this...

He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side,
and that means all is well with my soul.

Every day is a blessing for GOD Is!

I love the Lord and thank Him for all that He has done in my life.

If you took time to read this I know you’ve heard it from a pulpit but is good to refresh us in remembering “HE IS GOD.”

I MUST TELL JESUS

This old song “I Must Tell Jesus E.A.H. Copyright, 1893, by The Hoffman Music Co. Rev E.A. Hoffman) has been on my heart this morning. And of course, I found it in the ole Blue Book, red to some of you. It’s funny when you sing some of these old songs how a young person will tell you” I like that” and when I tell them where it’s at they are shocked. Guess what “yungins” old songs will feed you just like your new ones when you take time for them. It’s all about worship. Join with me in reading or singing these words today.

  1. I must tell Jesus all of my trials,
    I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me,
He ever loves and cares for His own.
    • Refrain:
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
      I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
  2. I must tell Jesus all of my troubles,
    He is a kind, compassionate Friend;
If I but ask Him He will deliver,
Make of my troubles quickly an end.
  3. Tempted and tried I need a great Savior,
    One who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus:
He all my cares and sorrows will share.

4. O how the world to evil allures me!

O how my heart is tempted to sin!

I must tell Jesus, and He will help me

Over the world the vict'ry to win.

Now wasn’t that sweet? Yes,” I must tell Jesus.” Thank you Jesus for helping me today you light up my life and I love you more and more each day.
