I AM BACK! I HOPE!
WHAT IS SURFING WITH JESUS?

There have been some problems getting Surfing with Jesus sent out since the folks I use to do it made changes in August. I haven’t been gone just not sure how to use this new stuff. So, here is my futile attempt to use it.

Let me begin by saying thank you for all of you throughout the world for allowing me to share with you. In tracing notes from the past I am sharing some`      thought that I found that brought me to do Surfing with Jesus.

One note on September 25, 1998 goes like this”…Hey, I’ve been trying to get someone to go to Sunday School tomorrow, reckon you could come over the NET? That would make 3 times a year? Can’t seem to get any in person flesh and blood, so let’s start the first internet church; let’s call it the Surfing with Jesus Church. Our Sermon, Jesus Ain’t a Flake by Pastor Gene A. Dasher.”

This was a note to Ray my wife’s cousin who said he went to church with his folks twice that year.

As I write my sole desire is to uplift Christ, fellow Christians, and share the love of Jesus with others. I have tried to be true to this over fifteen years now. I pastor a country church that is great in prayer but small in number. This was born when I was a little down and God gave me this ministry and it still lifts me up each day.

In 2004 we had over 3500 active email addresses we were sharing with when we crashed and lost all contacts. We started over and found several of you and have been back to over 2000. With the changes and people not updating their address changes we have less than 2000 today. But that’s okay, we put it on Face book and some 20 other sites with some 15000 -20000 possible precipitants.

My hope is you will be uplifted by God and pass the good news on to others. One precious man of God who still blesses me even though he is in heaven use to say about the church magazine he use to pray for each week “If it touches just one person it is worth all the effort.” His name was Bishop M.A. Tomlinson.

In closing today I share the very first Surfing with Jesus done sometime in September 1998. Hard to believe it has been over 15 years and some of you have been with me all the way. Thanks for your kind notes over the years and encouragement. You make my day when you share with me.

JESUS AIN’T A FLAKE
Pastor Gene A Dasher

Jesus is always there; he has perfect attendance and understands each need. He’s in California, Tennessee, and where ever you may be. If you have a need he makes house calls and leaves you with victory.

What a wonderful God! Without Him life would not be. Without His breath blowing on us to give us life, we would only be dust. However, with his breath of life, we have a great opportunity in which we can give Him praise. He provides, He supplies, and I praise Him for His love, His tender mercies, and care.

It’s wonderful to serve a Savior that is not a flake, Jesus is better than Special K or any cereal you may have at home. Jesus gives you energy to face each day with a peace and joy in your heart that passes all understanding.

God bless you this Sunday and every day.

AWESOME GOD #83209052013

AWESOME GOD

Getting ready to go to Bible study tonight and I just thought “Awesome God.” The song says “What a mighty God we Serve.” I believe this with all my heart. People all around us are hurting and we have the answer in Jesus Christ our Lord. Makes me want sing it, shout it, and proclaim it from the roof tops that my God is real and he is real in my soul.

Well how is your day going? Have you placed it in the hands of Jesus? Another song goes like this “He loves you when you’re right, he loves you when you’re wrong, he loves you when you’re weak and when you’re strong, oh, oh, he’ll never ever change, he’s every day the same…” Cling to God’s hand, hold tight and let him have his way with you.

Take a moment and read Psalm 51:1-12 and allow God to feed you

Psalm 51

King James Version (KJV)
51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Revives oh Lord today, help us to see how awesome you are each day of our lives.

CRANKY OLE MAN #83108252013

CRANKY OLD MAN

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.
Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

CRANKY OLD MAN

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too!

REMEMBER AS YOU SHARE THIS POEM! The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart!

GOD'S APPOINTMENT #83008242013

GOD’S APPOINTMENT

Recently I attended the National Convention of the Vietnam Veterans of America representing our Cleveland, Tennessee Chapter 596. After a long day on the floor and an evening of caucuses, I went to my room for a few minutes. I decided to go back down stairs a few minutes and spend a few moments by the St Johns river in Jacksonville, Florida.

I got down stairs and realized I forgot something and was returning to my room when two men stopped me and ask if I had driven to the Convention. I said our chapter drove. After a brief conversation I learned that this was the Veteran that had a heart attack after getting off the plane. He was released and got to the hotel and had need of prescriptions being filled immediately.

I told them I would have to go to my room and find my roommate who drove for us but we would be happy to help him. If I had  not forgoten something in our room we would not have met and that’s why I call it an appointment with God.

I got my roommate and we headed for help, this man really looked like he needed to be back in the hospital. We came upon a Wal-Mart and told them our need. They let us know they would put it in the system but would be unable to fill it until the next day. By now our new friend needed to sit down. I continued to talk to the people and told them he needed help really bad.

After a few moments the pharmacists agreed to stay and fill the prescriptions. Whew, thank you Lord. We were so grateful and praise the Lord for his mercy. We went back to our hotel for the night and our new friend went to his room. The next evening we ran into him again and he was doing much better.

Folks, I believe we have God appointments and what we do with them is important. Should you have one come your way, allow God to use you to bless those he put in your path.

We now have a new friend and we give God the praise for working things out.
