Unite In Prayer and Praise

Acts 4:7-10,12,18-21,23-24,28-33

7And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

9If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

18And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

19But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

21So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

23And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

24And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

28For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

29And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

30By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

31And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

32And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

33And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Wow! This doesn’t sound like the Peter we knew before he was full of the Holy Ghost. The old Peter denied Christ and lacked boldness. The new Peter being full of the Holy Ghost was able to unite in prayer and praise and glorify God and witness miracles as God healed and raised up people unto the Lord.

Lord fill us over and over again with the power of the Holy Ghost and help us proclaim your love to a lost and dying world. There are nearly seven billion people in the world today and we must reach them with Jesus.

Let the power of the Holy Ghost fall on us, let it gush forth more and more and may souls be charged and changed as we lose ourselves in God in Jesus name I pray.

REMEMBER

“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

Surfing with Jesus

Have you ever thought about surfing with the Lord? I love the ocean and the beach and to watch the sunrise from the eastern sky but that is not what I am talking about. I mean walking with the Lord in the freedom of the Holy Ghost as he directs you each moment of the day.

I see God everywhere. As I continue to be with my mother I look out and see the squirrels so freely swing from a tree to the top of her home running up another tree. I see cats hover around her back door awaiting the scraps she will share with them. She says they are not my cats but there’s no need in wasting this food. I saw God in the countryside and the tall trees while I visited my youngest brother in his new home. I saw God as another brother and I took out an old stove and replaced it for my mother. She’s so happy to have four burners that work again. What a treat to see the smile on her face that wasn’t there a few days ago because of her sickness. She is doing much better by the way. Thank you for your prayers.

Yes, God is so good. I love Surfing with Him. When you surf with Jesus there is such joy and peace. If you don’t know the Lord today you are unable to surf with my Lord. I invite you to quit running from God and draw neigh to him and surf with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You brought nothing into this world and you will take nothing with you. Surrender to God this moment. Confess your sins. God is faithful and just and will forgive you. Allow him to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Receive him into your heart and life today.

Now, begin a new life in Jesus and surf with him. When you have done this share your testimony with someone and help them to begin a new life and surf with our Lord. This is so exciting and the Bible says the angels rejoice when one receives the Lord.

As Surfing with Jesus goes around the world penetrating lands I will never see I like to think that a part of me is tagging along and touching hearts with the love of Jesus. Thank you for allowing me to surf with you today. Lord, I love you with all my heart and know each need will be met as we surf with you and believe in you. Heal broken homes, touch those without work and in financial need, and heal those cancers and other afflictions that torment our bodies and minds. Lord you said you would not place anything upon us that you would not provide a way and we now humble seek your way in Jesus name I pray.

My First Retirement Assignment

My Mother

Yes, I know it is Father’s Day Weekend and I was blessed with a wonderful father and dad who has been with the Lord for 24 years. However, my mother has been ailing and now has the shingles so I’m in Ohio with her this Father’s Day.

Mom decided to wait until she is 87 to deal with this horrible affliction. Thanks to my lovely wife who is taking care of our home and church I was able to slip in on mom and help her. God is so good to allow this to take place. What would we do without the Lord?

It hurts to see mom suffer but her faith is great and the doctor said today she is mending quicker than he expected. Mom said well there are many people praying for me. Mom is a great prayer warrior and trust God and the prayers of others when she is in need.

It is a thrill just to sit and hear her share stories and learn more about God as we have this precious time together. I have to fight her over staying away from the stove as usual because she doesn’t need heat to affect her sores. What can I say? She loves to cook and I love her cooking but she needs to mend first.

Thank you Lord for the blessing I am receiving as I write and share your goodness and love with others. The Psalmist wrote in 121:1 “I will lift mine eyes unto the hills…” As you lift your eyes unto God sing praises unto his name. He alone can lead you and guide you into all truth today.

Lord I ask your blessings on all our readers today and I pray you heal bodies, mend broken homes, lift up the discouraged, and provide salvation for those in need in Jesus name I pray.

Are You a Father and a Daddy? #574

Are You a Father and a Daddy?

One may father a child any day of the year but being a daddy is a 24/7 every day of the year event. Too many children are in need of a daddy today. You smile and are very excited because you have helped produce a beautiful baby but as the old saying goes it has only just begun. Congratulations, you are now a father but will you be a daddy?

As a daddy it is your responsibility to provide for all the needs of this precious child God has entrusted you with. What does this mean? It simply means you need to provide the nurture that is needed to teach your child to love God, family, and others.

Can you remember where you were and what was going on when your children were born? Can you remember how precious each of them were as you took them home and showed them off to your family? Wow! It seems only like yesterday and for some of you it may have been. No one can ever take that precious moment away from you. Isn’t it funny how all babies are so cute to everyone when brought home. I don’t know what happen but many did not stay cute for long. Ha!

Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Men this is an awesome task the Lord has placed upon us. He expects us to lead by example.

Proverbs 22:15 says “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” What is a rod of correction? Well, it doesn’t mean knocking the child cold with your first or emotionally abusing them.

In the KJV commentary on this verse in the Tyndale Open Bible the writer puts it well. “The rod of correction stands for all forms of discipline or training. Just as God trains and corrects us to make us better, so parents must discipline their children to make them learn the difference between right and wrong.”

“Correction is a vital part of discipline, and discipline means to teach and to train.” It is not always easy to be a daddy. God doesn’t punish us because he enjoys inflicting pain. He loves us and wants what is best for us. Daddy, love will conquer more than anything. Teach your child, train your child as you correct them in their ways.

I say this every year but it is necessary to keep it before you. If you have or had a good daddy be thankful. I was blessed with a God fearing dad but if you did not become one as you nurture your child. If you don’t have a dad adopt one this week and bless them with your love.
