| Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew all about it.
If any mischief occurred in their town, the two boys were probably involved.
The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. So the mother sent the 8 year old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon. The preacher, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, 'Do you know where God is, son?'
The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open. So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, 'Where is God?' Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, 'Where is God?'
The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.
When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, 'What happened?'
The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, 'We are in BIG trouble this time,'
(I just LOVE reading this next line again and again :) 'GOD is missing, and they
think we did it!' Yes, I chuckle as I share this but it brought up this big question to me as I think on our nation and this world today. Where is God USA? What have you done with him? Where is he welcome today? Where is that nation that was created to give me freedom of speech and freedom to worship? Last week I went to share Surfing with Jesus with some Veteran friends as I do every week in an Organization of Vietnam Veterans the ATAV of which I am a member. This transportation unit, posted I am blocked from using this site anymore because what I share is not welcome. Boy was that a slap in the face, I told them as I tell you, my sole desire is to uplift Christ, fellow Christians and share the love of Jesus with others. This is my heart, this is my life. I served my country to maintain this freedom. So I like the preacher with the little boys cry out today in our nation WHERE IS GOD? I’m thankful for God, I’m thankful I had him in Vietnam. I’m thankful I have him today. He is and He rewards those who search Him. I’m sorry as a nation he is not welcome anymore. He is not politically correct at school, at government events and at many public places and activities. Businesses are afraid they will lose customers if they acknowledge him so He is left out of the picture. Once again I cry out as the preacher above, WHERE IS GOD AMERICA? WHERE IS GOD WORLD? May I proclaim to you as I close, I haven’t lost God, I know where he is because he is in my heart and he is in my life and he is here to stay! Each of you has a choice, receive him or reject him. God’s love is real and his hand is extended to if you will receive him. I never thought I’d see the day that my nation the USA would forget where God is or hide him away where the world could not see him.
