Ducks Quack - Eagles Soar

No one can make you serve customers well....that's because great service is a choice.
Harvey Mackay, tells a wonderful story about a cab driver that proved this point.

He was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing Harvey noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for Harvey .

He handed my friend a laminated card and said: 'I'm Wally, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement.'

Taken aback, Harvey read the card. It said: Wally's Mission Statement: To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment....

This blew Harvey away. Especially when he noticed that the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean!

As he slid behind the wheel, Wally said, 'Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf.' My friend said jokingly, 'No, I'd prefer a soft drink.' Wally smiled and said, 'No problem. I have a cooler up front with regular and Diet Coke, water and orange juice.' Almost stuttering, Harvey said, 'I 'll take a Diet Coke.'

Handing him his drink, Wally said, 'If you'd like something to read, I have The Wall Street Journal, Time, Sports Illustrated and USA Today..'

As they were pulling away, Wally handed my friend another laminated card, 'These are the stations I get and the music they play, if you'd like to listen to the radio.'

And as if that weren't enough, Wally told Harvey that he had the air conditioning on and asked if the temperature was comfortable for him. Then he advised Harvey of the best route to his destination for that time of day. He also let him know that he'd be happy to chat and tell him about some of the sights or, if Harvey preferred, to leave him with his own thoughts...

'Tell me, Wally,' my amazed friend asked the driver, 'have you always served customers like this?'

Wally smiled into the rear view mirror. 'No, not always. In fact, it's only been in the last two years. My first five years driving, I spent most of my time complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard the personal growth guru, Wayne Dyer, on the radio one day.

He had just written a book called You'll See It When You Believe It. Dyer said that if you get up in the morning expecting to have a bad day, you'll rarely disappoint yourself. He said, 'Stop complaining! Differentiate yourself from your competition. Don't be a duck. Be an eagle. Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd.'

'That hit me right between the eyes,' said Wally. 'Dyer was really talking about me. I was always quacking and complaining, so I decided to change my attitude and become an eagle. I looked around at the other cabs and their drivers.. The cabs were dirty, the drivers were unfriendly, and the customers were unhappy. So I decided to make some changes. I put in a few at a time. When my customers responded well, I did more.'

'I take it that has paid off for you,' Harvey said.

'It sure has,' Wally replied. 'My first year as an eagle, I doubled my income from the previous year. This year I'll probably quadruple it. You were lucky to get me today. I don't sit at cabstands anymore. My customers call me for appointments on my cell phone or leave a message on my answering machine. If I can't pick them up myself, I get a reliable cabbie friend to do it and I take a piece of the action.'

Wally was phenomenal. He was running a limo service out of a Yellow Cab. I've probably told that story to more than fifty cab drivers over the years, and only two took the idea and ran with it. Whenever I go to their cities, I give the m a call. The rest of the drivers quacked like ducks and told me all the reasons they couldn't do any of what I was suggesting.

Wally the Cab Driver made a different choice. He decided to stop quacking like ducks and start soaring like eagles.

SORROW looks back, WORRY looks around, and FAITH looks UP...

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."

We Ask For Rain and Then We Complain #58909282009

We Ask For Rain and Then We Complain

Some of us have received more rain than we can handle while others are begging for rain. Why does one receive rain and another not? The best answer is I don’t know. God alone determines when and where it will rain.

I listened to a local minister on the radio on the way to church and he went into great detail on people asking God why? Why did I lose my job, why did she die so young, why, why, why? He was speaking on Job who we would think had a good reason to ask why. However the Bible tells us Job was a good man, a righteous man and a man of great means. Then one day he lost all his family and all his wealth except his wife. He had done nothing wrong, he had trusted God and yet it was gone.

We go thru times that we don’t understand in our life. We tend to cry out why things come our way. God knows and we may or may not find out before we go to heaven. However, rest assured if we will cling to His promises we will understand it some day. We who believe look forward to Jesus coming and then there will be no more suffering, no more pain, and no more sorrow. The why’s will be no more and we will rest in His arms for evermore.

I’ve watched several good friends lose their wife to cancer in recent years. One said to me this summer that he is sad over losing his wife. He said sometimes it’s like he should feel guilty about the peace that is in his heart but he knows it comes from God and for this he is thankful.

Another friend lost two sons in recent years. These young men were at the prime of life and he hurts, he has pain, but he feels the strength that only comes from knowing God. This is God at work my friend.

Do you have too much rain, too little water; too much of life that you cannot bear? I encourage you to turn to Jesus and allow him to direct your path. Does that mean all your troubles will go away? Bad things happen in life to all of us. Don’t listen to those who say you have sin in your life if you are living a righteous life. Cling to the word of God and allow him to love you whether there is too much or too little rain.

Jesus is coming soon to gather his own unto him. “Soon and very soon we are going to see the King.” “Are you ready? Are you ready? To meet him in the air.” Wow! What a wonderful day that will be. I look forward to seeing you when he comes to gather us home.

The Power of the Holy Ghost

The Power of the Holy Ghost

I have been preaching from the book of Acts and sharing the change that took place on the day of Pentecost when the power of the Holy Ghost fell and turned men, women, cities, and Nations upside down.

Remember Peter as he denied Christ? After receiving the Holy Ghost we have a new disciple. He now has boldness in God as the Holy Ghost moves on him. Join me for a few verses in Chapter 10.

34And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
Man cannot do this but when God gets hold of you and you submit to the Holy Spirit then you are not moving in the flesh but in God. I can just see this old fisherman looking at Aeneas who’s had this need for eight years. The power of God got hold of Peter and he was changed and Aeneas health was restored and all that dwelt in the Lydda and Saron saw him and turned to the Lord.

I pray, Lord, help me be full of the power of the Holy Ghost to answer the call when there is a need. Help me be bold in you and help my community return to you in Jesus name I pray. United States wake up and pray for the only real change that can help us. In God we trust and in God we must take our stand and allow the power of the Holy Ghost freedom in our land.
I love to hear the report of how souls are returning to God in other lands. I get excited about my fellow laborers who are reaping this harvest. Folks I want the same power of the Holy Ghost to take hold of me and you and our communities and see people slain under the power of God. Oh God let me be a vessel of honor to you. I hunger; I thirst for your righteousness. Fill me Oh Lord with your love.

It Must Be Settled Tonight

IT MUST BE SETTLED TONIGHT

The burly miner blinked as he left the dark interior of the coal mine.
Stopping at a faucet near the mine entrance, he washed the worst of the
grime from his face and hands, and then headed towards his home on the outskirts of the village. As he trudged along the dusty lane, he passed the open door of a little church. Inside, a small crowd listened intently as an energetic
man gesticulated from the pulpit. Interested, the miner stepped to the door.

"Absolute surrender is what we must have," the minister was saying. "Are you
willing to surrender yourself absolutely into His hand? If not, you are not
ready to meet your God." The minister paced back and forth on the platform.
"We do not know how much longer our earthly probation will last. Tonight you
are living; tomorrow may be too late. Ask yourself, I beg of you, 'Am I
ready to meet the Lord?'"

The miner, touched to the quick, slipped into the back pew. I am not ready
to meet God, he thought. I have lived a careless, godless life. How can I
make peace with Him? The meeting ended, and the people filed out. Still the
miner remained in the pew, his head in his hands.

Finally, the minister touched him on the shoulder. "Brother, are you ready
to meet the Lord?"

Blindly, the miner shook his head. "I know I am not. Oh, help me find
peace!"

An hour passed as the minister shared the plan of salvation; yet something
held the miner back from full surrender.

"It's getting late," the minister finally said. "Go home, and continue to
seek the Lord."

The miner shook his head. "Stay with me a little longer; it must be settled
tonight."

Once again the minister explained the way of salvation and prayed, but in
vain. Another hour passed.

"You must go home," the minister told him. "It's late, and I cannot make it
any clearer."

"It must be settled tonight," the miner repeated, his eyes burning with
earnestness.

"Then we shall stay here together," the minister agreed. Once more he spoke
of Jesus, and shared promise after promise. Once more he prayed, but in
vain. "I must go," the minister finally said. "It will soon be morning. Go
home, and return tomorrow night. Maybe then you will find peace."

"Sir, I cannot leave this place until I find peace."

The poor man's voice trembled. "Tomorrow may be too late. It must be settled
tonight."

The minister could not resist his appeal. "By the help of God." he said, "it
shall be settled tonight."

Again he explained the steps of conversion; again he prayed. As he spoke,
the miner broke into sobs and tears, and at last the light pierced his
darkness.

"I see it!" he cried. "I give myself absolutely to God, to His will, to do
only what He wants. It is settled.

Praise His name, it is settled!" The two men knelt again, but this time to
thank God for bringing light to a sinner's soul.

The next morning the miner went to work as usual. During the day he was sent
to a distant part of the mine to fetch some tools. When he did not return,
his fellow workers went to look for him. They found that the mine walls had
caved in on him, and he was buried in the debris. Working with pick and
shovel, they began to dig. Finally, from the fragments of rock and rubbish
and stone which hid him from sight came a faint sound:

"Tonight ---- would have been ---- too late. Thank God ---- it was settled
---- last night!"

God's Accuracy 58609152009

"God's Accuracy"

What an awesome God.

God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.

For example :
-the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
-those of the canary in 14 days;
-those of the barnyard hen in 21 days ;
-The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
-those of the mallard in 35 days ;
-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)

The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way for His glory, if you will only entrust Him with your life. If you try to regulate your own life, it will only be a mess and a failure. Only the One Who made the brain and the heart can successfully guide them to a profitable end.

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant... The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.

A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.

How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!

God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in the number of grains.

-Each watermelon has an even number of strips on the rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.
-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.

-The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold - all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day, so that Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!

Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence.

Only the God-planned safe life is successful. Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is fulfilled.

Thanks for sharing this with us Susan.

I HOPE YOU FIND THIS AS FASCINATING AS I DID..... WOW!!!!

When God takes something from your grasp, He's merely opening your hands to receive something better.
