HOW ARE YOU?

I am doing great, how are you? Are you really great, are you telling the truth? All of us try to put the best we have before others. There are times we are telling the truth but there are times we are dying inside and need help.

Where do you fit in this picture today? Is it well with your soul or are you in need of a touch that only the Master can give you. You may fool your family and friends about what is happening inside but God knows your heart your mind and soul.

All of us are in need of a touch from the Master. His word is my choice for leading me to his strength to understand the day and speak peace in a way no man can compare.

Join me in God’s word and allow it to speak to us today as we read Psalm 5

1Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. 2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. 3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. 4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. 5The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 6Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. 7But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. 8Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. 9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. 10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. 11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. 12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Lord I thank you that I am able to rejoice, I thank you as I shout for joy and I praise you for your shield that compasses me this day as I continue my journey until I see you face to face in heaven.

REMEMBER

“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

Why go to Church?

I know most of you have read this before but I think it is good to refresh our minds and know why we go to church. Someone said give me scripture and I said well try " Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25).

Why go to Church?

If you're spiritually alive, you're going to love this!

If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it.

If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this.. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" When you are DOWN to nothing...... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

"When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you get that for me?"

A little personal note. While in Viet Nam I went to chapel service each week. We had a Chaplain who did not measure up to what "I" thought a Christian should represent so I went down by the river got my bible out and had my own service. One week I was so hungry for fellowship I went to chapel. As I walked in the Chaplain was reading the Bible and God's word spoke to my heart. It was the same man, he did the same things with his life but I forgot the man and looked at what God's word was saying to me.

Needless to say I never missed again. I come to the house of God to worship God. When you come expecting to receive from the Lord you will receive, if you are there for any other reason you will not receive the strength you need in your life.

“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

HAPPY AUTUMN

Some of you have seen this with the picture that goes with it. Since the picture want come through on this format I thought I’d just share the words. The picture shows a store with pumpkins etc with a sign for vegetables and fruits for sale.

“Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up,
takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you
up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff--
including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves
you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for
all the world to see. This was passed on to me from another
pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin. I liked
this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.” Happy Fall!

When I first saw this a few years ago I thought how special to be a pumpkin in the hands of God. We are so special; God takes time to meet our every need. He is the great I am and on him I depend. Call him my crutch if you like but I love leaning on Jesus.

Lord help us this day to take the time to thank you and to appreciate what you mean to us and all that you do for us each moment of the day. With your hand you have made us, with your blood you have cleansed us and healed us. Thank you for leading us, protecting us and abiding in us. Oh how precious it is to know you and have fellowship with you today. Yes, once again, I lift my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. You are my God and there is none other.
